A letter from the Board of Directors…
The RT Baseball Association Board of Directors would like to thank all the volunteer members for making our 2008 season a great success. Our mission is not only to help our players learn about baseball, but also to teach sportsmanship, fair play and the rewards of hard work.
Through our RTBB Boosters fundraising efforts, we have been able to bring some exciting improvements to our program this past year that we are all very proud of. In the spring, a lighting system was installed at the Peterson Field batting cages. Dugouts and announcer booths were painted, cleaned out and new state of the art electronics were installed. The infields were cutout and new clay was laid down. Marcella Field will also be seeing some major changes through our Fall Ball program similar to those made at Peterson. The new permanent batting cage has already been erected during the spring season, and is being enjoyed by many.
It would be hard not to notice the new RT Baseball logo we have incorporated for the 2008 season! From our new spirit wear and gear line to our highly upgraded uniforms, our new RT is the talk of the town! Let’s not forget our new and improved website www.Rtbaseball.org with over 51,000 hits we are becoming the first source for up to the minute information. Even our local newspapers have been keeping us in the news almost weekly.
We are especially proud of the new programs we brought to our players and parents this year. From our educational Coaches and Umpire clinics, T-Ball Tea Social, the NY Yankees Kevin Long’s batting clinic and the Morris County Challenger Day, the RTBA has really gone all out to get our kids involved and have fun doing it!
Summer tournament teams have had a big overhaul too. Increased teams, head-to-toe uniform upgrades, custom All-Star 2008 caps, and more umpires have had a huge impact on our program.
The level of play in all our leagues has improved and will carry on in the future with the continued help of our exceptional volunteers and financial support from of local merchants, advertisers, donations or family supporters.
We thank you for your participation and we look forward to seeing you in the Fall Ball and Spring 2009 programs!
Sincerely,
Rockaway Township Baseball Association
