On Thursday night, the Rockaway 10U All-Stars capped off a terrific run in the District 7 Tournament, beating Mt. Olive 7-1 to win the town’s 1st Cal Ripken District title. During the tournament, the Rockaway defense was downright elite, allowing only 14 runs across seven games.
In the final, Jameson Connell took the hill for Rockaway, and dominated a loaded Mt. Olive lineup across 4.2 innings of work. Connell allowed zero earned runs, three hits, and struck out four, helping Rockaway build an insurmountable lead.
Congrats to the Rockaway 10U squad who advanced to the states after booking their ticket to the District finals by defeating Denville 5 to 3 in the semi-finals. Matthew Polanco pitched 5 strong innings allowing 2 runs and David Bacosa came in to to finish the sixth. Drew Weir and Chris Evangelis each had 2 hits. Rockaway plays for the District 7 Championship 7pm Wednesday night in Kinnelon (174 Boonton Avenue).
Jason Revis and Ricky Dowling each had 3 hits and Hadyn Dittmer cleared the bases with a 3 run triple. Leo Reiser went 4 and 1/3 innings to get the win. The boys move on to face Montville Monday night.
9U All-Stars with a huge win over Roxbury to kick off districts! Kolten Weiss with a complete game one-hitter and 10K’s. Later in the day, the 9U Raiders punched their ticket to the USABL Championship with a 3-2 win over Hanover.
The battle for the Borneman Trophy on Saturday did not disappoint!! The Yankees got off to a hot start scoring 3 runs in the first inning on consecutive hits from Tyler Lampmann, Jordan Zuniga, and Gianluca Pasulo! You knew this was going to be battle when the Padres answered with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st where Leo DeNunzio had his first of 3 hits for the day, Wyatt Wolpert just missed a home run on a ball off the wall, and then Gabriel Pride drove them home with a triple!

#4 Seed Rays Win over #2 Seed Red Sox
Rays completed their playoff run with a 14-2 win over the Red Sox. Matteo Sierchio and Jacob Ibanez combined in the 4 inning pitching effort, letting up only a few hits between them including an RBI double by Joshua Rufolo for the Sox. The bats were hot for the Rays again. A multiple hit day for Anthony Scocco, Matteo Sierchio, Joseph Lusardi, and Wheeler Sappio who also hit a home run in the 4th. Jack Kelleher and Jace Rodimer drove in runs as well. Sebastian Ruiz recorded most of the Sox outs in the 3rd and 4th inning while on the mound including 3 strike outs 4 Seed Rays Win over #2 Seed Red Sox
Rays Move Past White Sox to Advance to Minors Championship Game
#4 seed Rays took on the #1 seed White Sox to advance to the Minors championship in a 10 to 4 win. A team effort in pitching, defense and hitting paved the way against a tough White Sox crew whose combined pitching of Jameson Connell, Nico Moody and Jaxon Collins recorded 10 strikeouts. Highlighting the Rays offense was Joseph Lusardi's 2 hit day including a triple while Anthony Scocco and Wheeler Sappio put up 3 hits each including a 3-run homer by Wheeler in the 1st inning.
Red Sox Pull A Tight One Out Against The Dodgers To Play In The Championship Game
Red Sox pull out late win against the Dodgers. A well pitched ball game ended with the Red Sox pulling out a 2 to 1 victory.
The championship game will be held at Peterson field at 3:00 pm.

The Yankees will take on the #1 seed Padres in the championship game at Peterson at 6:00pm .

Rays Take Down Blue Jays 12 to 11 Walk-Off Style in the Sixth!
Rays were down 11 to 8 to the Blue Jays going into the bottom of the final inning and completed the come back as Matteo Sierchio had a walk-off triple to send the Rays to the next round.
Dodgers Outlast Nationals 6 to 5 in the 9th inning!
In a classic extra inning game, this one went all the way to the bottom of the 9th. Nationals took the lead (5 to 3) on an inside the park home run from Joseph Andrade then Christopher Jordan stroked a 2 run single for the Dodgers who walked it off for a 6 to 5 victory.

The Rockaway 10u All Stars needed to win two games on Sunday to advance to the semi final on Monday, and they accomplished it in dramatic fashion. In Game 1 against Randolph. Rockaway got another strong pitching performance from David Bacosa, as well as timely hitting up and down the lineup in a 5-2 victory.
Rockaway needed all six innings to dispose of Montville in their elimination quarterfinal game, as the All-Stars battled back from a 5-1 6th inning deficit to take a 6-5 lead going into the bottom of the 6th thanks to a 2-RBI single from JJ Morgan.
Jameson Connell pitched a complete game for Rockaway, time and time again coming up clutch on the mound.
Rockaway will take on Fairfield in their semi final match at 9 AM on Monday. Please come out and support this incredible group of players as they look to win the Mount Olive tournament! Field 9 at Turkey Brook Park!
11U made it close in the final inning but fell to Pequannock 7 to 5 to end their Memorial Day Tournament. The boys played hard all weekend and are looking forward to districts. Thank you to all the friends and family for the support.
Hadyn Dittmer pitched a complete game and Leo Reiser smashed one over the fence to lead 11U to an 8 to 5 win over Montville to finish the group stage in 4th place (out of 10) with 2 wins and 1 loss. Cooper Crespo had a huge double late in the game then Avery Lomonaco hit a clutch single to right field to tie the game up in the 5th. Masen Skladany had 2 RBI's while Ricky Dowling and Stephen Ricci both had multi-hit games. The boys are moving on to play 5th rank Pequannock at 1:00 at Mount Olive High School.
Rockaway 9U All-Stars swept their doubleheader on Saturday, moving to 3-0 in tournament play. The boys beat Roxbury 11-5 in the opener thanks to a strong start on the mound by Sean Slader, as well as a three-hit effort offensively by Slader, John Thomas Sosely, and Tommy Carabello.
In Game 2, Rockaway once again got strong pitching, this time by Colton Cassidy, and the bats were hot again. Rockaway pounded out 18 hits, led by six batters with multi-hit games, defeating Wayne PAL 19-7.
9U finishes pool play vs Sparta on Sunday at 8am, but have already clinched a spot in the playoffs.
After a hot start, the 12s were down 4 in the 4th with 2 outs, when Gabe Pride legged out an infield single and Nick Hartsuiker followed with an inside the park home run!! In the 5th they completed the come back with 3 consecutive 2 out singles from Gianluca Pasulo, Sebastian Randazzo, and the a double by Anthony Giardina!! After the teams each scored single runs in the 6th, Rockaway pulled away with 7 in the 7th!!! Wyatt Wolpert and Zach Drown both pitched to secure the teams first win!! Next game Sunday at 9 am!
Rockaway 11U took care of business friday night with a 6 to 4 win over local rival Denville. Masen Skladany pitched the first 3 innings and Ricky Dowling then took it home with 3 innings of 1 hit ball along with his 2 RBI's. at the plate. Stephen Ricci tied the game with a single. Avery "Lomo" Lomonaco then led off a tied 5th inning with a single to left center and came around to score the winning run. The boys had 10 hits from 10 different batters. A true true team victory. Next up, Montville Saturday afternoon at 4:00, then the playoffs on Sunday.
9U Rockaway All-Stars opened up their Memorial Day Weekend Tournament with a 9-3 win over rival Long Valley. Tyler Drown, Colton Cassidy, and Kolten Weiss combined on a 5-hitter with 10 Ks!
Rockaway had the bats going in this one, as they got multi-hit games from Drown, Cassidy, Tommy Carabello, and John Thomas Sosely. Carabello starred behind the plate as well, as Rockaway played flawless defense throughout.
Next up is a two-game slate on Saturday, first against Roxbury at 10am, and Wayne PAL at 2pm.
Rockaway 8U All Stars beat Pequannock 6-1. The team was lead by Brody Dorer on the mound who pitched 3 innings, giving up two hits and no runs. Davis Allen led the team offensively, going 1-2 at the plate with 3 RBI's and a run scored.
11U played an epic 9 inning game on Thursday night against one of the top teams in our region (Mt. Olive). Leo Reiser and Hadyn Dittmer combined for 9 innings pitched with only 4 runs allowed in 9 innings. Next Up local rival Denville Dragons.
The 12 year old All Stars pounded out 6 hits and Tyler Lampmann and Wyatt Wolpert pitched well but came up short against Mount Olive, 6-4. Hunter Stambach made his own highlight reel in Center Field making 2 run saving catches, and Leo DeNunzio had a clutch 2 RBI single in the 6th that brought the tying run to the plate before the rally was snuffed out!! Next up back to back Saturday afternoon games starting at 2pm, first against Wayne and then Lincoln Park at 4pm.
RTBA showed up strong to the Memorial Day Tournament with 5 teams representing Rockaway baseball (12U/11U/10U/9U/8U).
All of the teams played well with several advancing deep in their brackets. Congrats to all the players and Coaches for putting in the work and representing Rockaway Baseball. Bring on the Districts!
Rockaway Baseball showed in full force on Sunday with over 100 RTBA family members at the Sussex Miners game . Was great to see players jerseys from all Rockaway divisions, as well as Rockaway All Stars and Rockaway Raiders. Congratulations to Jack Weininger for winning the RTBA/Raiders Pre-Game Challenge as well as The Felton family for winning tickets to the RTBA Summer Mets game which will be announced soon.
