Raiders 9U Brings Home Back to Back USABL Championships!!

The Rockaway Raiders 9U travel team accomplished an incredible feet this weekend.  On Saturday, the Raiders got a complete game one-hitter from Kolten Weiss with 10 strikeouts to clinch their spot in the championship.  On Sunday, the Raiders went up against a club team made up of four different towns and got the job done, clinching back to back championships.

The win capped off a 10-1 season for 9U, thanks to an incredible  Pitching performance by Tyler Drown.  Logan Weiss went 3-3 in the game, as Rockaway battled back time and time again to clinch the victory.

As a group, this team has gone 20-2 in travel play.

9U Raiders Take 1st Place

This crew moved up this year and went 8-1 in their division! No. 1 overall and got a bye to the Semis! Swept a DH over Hanover thanks to an 11-2 win in Game 1 and an extra innings win in Game 2! Lets go Rockaway Raiders Travel Baseball !!

11U Raiders Big Friday Night Win At Peterson Against Chatham 11-2!

11U Raiders finished their 2024  Spring season with a big 11-2 win over a Chatham team who was ranked #6 in the state at the beginning of the season. Masen Skladany pitched a strong  3 innings only allowing 2 runs with 4 strikeouts. Kevin Dunko had 2 hits continuing his strong season and Haydn Dittmer crushed a double while pitching 2 scoreless innings. Jack Weininger made the play of the game with a great play in the outfield then firing a bullet to first for the double play!

The boys are playing great and looking forward to the playoffs. 

11U Raiders Big Friday Night Win At Peterson Against Chatham 11-2!

10U Raiders Black Walks It Off Against PLR under the Friday Night Lights @ Peterson

10u Black once again battled back in their American Division matchup with PLR. Avenging an early-season loss, the Raiders got a one-hit effort from the combination of Drew Weir and Jameson Connell on the mound.

Down 4-2 going into the 4th, the Raiders were able to crawl back to a 4-3 deficit going into the bottom of the sixth.

After a terrific leadoff walk by Nico Moody, the Raiders were able to put runners on 2nd and 3rd before a double by Matthew Polanco drove in two and sealed the walkoff win. JJ Morgan joined Polanco by driving in two runs, as the Raiders also got doubles from birthday boy Wheeler Sappio and Jack De Rosa.

Rockaway Raiders Travel Baseball currently consists of 5 teams (11U/10U /10U Gray/9U & 8U). 

The intent of the Raiders travel program is to offer a competitive level of baseball for Rockaway Township baseball players to further develop their skills, at a higher level of play, in preparation for the level of competition present in future years at the high school level. Games are played against teams from other towns or regions.

The Raiders are self funded by the families of players, donations from community and fundraising efforts. 

Raiders 10U Black Takes Down Undefeated Vernon!

Raiders 10U Black went up against an undefeated Vernon team that had not lost in two years, the boys staged an unbelievable comeback under the lights at Peterson Field. Down 5-1 late, the Raiders scored five unanswered runs knocking off the 1st Pl., Vernon Cyclones. 

The Raiders got contributions up and down the lineup, earning their biggest win since moving to the American Division.

Raiders 11U Gives Undefeated Mt Olive All they Could Handle on Mothers Day

Raiders 11U faced off against powerhouse Mt. Olive on Mothers Day and almost took home the win. Boys played hard almost pulling out the win in a 3-2  tight game. Ricky Dowling pitched 3 strong innings and also added a hit. Raiders will face off against Mt. Olive in the opening game of the Memorial Tournament. 

Raiders 9U Rolls against Hackettstown!!

The Goose was loose on Saturday night. Colton “Goose” Cassidy pitched a complete game for the 9U Raiders in their 14-4 victory over Hackettstown. Chris Meehan racked up 4 RBI in the win, as the Raiders also got two RBI from Tyler Drown and Sean Slader.

It was a sweet revenge game for the Raiders, as Hackettstown beat the boys last year in an elimination game via the 10-run rule back in 8U. The win moved the Raiders to 5-0 on the season in complete control of their division!

 

Raiders 11U Dreaming of Cooperstown in 2025

The Rockaway Raiders 11U are dreaming of Cooperstown in 2025!!!

The Raiders are dreaming early and hoping to be the first of many to follow Raiders teams to make the trip to Dreams Park in Cooperstown NY in 2025.   

Baseball players from around the world dream of playing in the Cooperstown 12U tournament and now Rockaway is sending our best to compete and make lifelong memories in this week long tournament.
